On Saturday the Grand Final and Minor Final of the AKA Team Competition will take place at the Australian Karate Academy Hombu Dojo – 226 Old Cleveland Road, Coorparoo at 3pm.

The team standings after Round 3 are -

1. Team Tora – 188 Points

2. Team Tsunami – 172 Points

3. Team Samurai – 168 Points

4. Team Kamikaze – 143 Points

As you can see it was very tight between 2nd and 3rd place, but Tsunami made it to the Grand Final to contest the title against front runners Team Tora. Team Tora have been the leaders from the very first week, however ended up coming 3rd in the final round to make it very interesting for the Grand Final. The Minor Final will be played out by Team Samurai and Team Kamikaze.

There was a slight tweak in the rules for last Saturday – all kicks were worth DOUBLE POINTS. This made matches more lively to watch, with more kicks being scored than in the previous 2 weeks. The Grand Final and Minor Final will revert back to normal Koshinkan Karate rules.
