Talk about an exciting ending! Scores were level leading into the last match between Chris Hannington and Anthony Normando, and after a swift side kick to the body, Chris was up 2-0. Within 10 seconds scores were level at 2-2 after Anthony did a tremendous round-house kick. After a flurry of points to both competitors, after 2 minutes scores were all locked up, again. Rules dictate the first to score, wins. After a 30 second break, Anthony and Chris were both back again and looking for a win. It was Anthony with a perfectly timed and well controlled round-house kick that won the bout, and the 1st AKA Team Competition.

2nd – Team Tsunami – Chris Hannington, Steve Walker, Hugo Kawamata, Brad Hunter,

3rd – Team Kamikaze -Matthew Turnour, Ton Ha, Oliver Morris, Marcus Rehbok, Calvin Tan

4th – Team Samurai – Johannes Beneke, Ashley Powers, Daniel Ingledew, Khoa Nguyen, Sophia Hunter

The last 4 weeks have been absolutely fantastic, and we have received some really great feedback. I would like to thank all parents, friends, and family members for attending every week, competitors for trying their hardest, Sean Hannington and Ashley Lovi for judging, Michelle Perry and Gayleen McMahon for table officiating, and my father Bob McMahon for helping to organise and run the competition. We all look forward to the next one!
